Director of Operations
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Founded in 1947 by the Boy family, National Jets is a full-service aviation company providing award-winning customer service and a full complement of aviation services across three distinct divisions: FBO services, aircraft maintenance, and aircraft management/charter. Our fleet consists of the most modern charter aircraft and is operated and maintained by National Jets. JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Operations will oversee all aspects related to flight operations including but not limited to aircraft maintenance, safety management system, crew qualifications and training, flight dispatch, and all regulatory systems for Part 91 and 135 operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Organize and direct all aspects of the operations department, including assisting in the development and/or administration of policies, department goals and objectives.
- Obtain required Letters of Authorization (LOA), Operations Specifications (OpSpecs).
- Maintain / update all required manuals / documents, and disseminate various handbooks, manuals and publications consistent with flight operations (e.g. GOM, OpSpecs, SMS, etc. required for operations under regulating authorities to include but not limited to; FAA, EASA, UK, ICAO, DHS/TSA, DOT, ETS, etc.)
- Perform required regulatory and internal audits to successful conclusion.
- This is a full-time, long-term position for the right individual. Full benefits package with 401k plan. Salary commensurate with applicant’s experience. Private Company is looking to fill this position immediately.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management or related field preferred.
- Experience sufficient to comply with the 14 CFR 119.71 and qualify for FAA Part 135 Director of Operations
- FAA Part 135 Management Experience highly preferred
- Have working knowledge / experience required for a global operation as well as ability to operate under an approved and in-depth SMS program.
- Excellent written/verbal skills, but more importantly, interpersonal skills that can translate immediately to our company culture. Serve as a positive, constructive, communicative leader for the organization and its clients.
- Proven track record of successfully managing teams and implementing operational strategies.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
ATP not required but preferred
Work Authorization/ Security Clearance:
In accordance with applicable airport security regulations administered by the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, and/or other local governing authorities, employee must obtain requisite security clearance and Broward County Aviation Department (BCAD) security badge as a condition of hire.

Work Environment:
Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and shop environments and is regularly exposed to contaminants such as dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. Environmental conditions in clued cramped work space, awkward positions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a non-exempt, full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Sunday through Saturday in 8 hour shifts. However, the position requires the ability to work during nonstandard hours when the need arises. Must be able to report to work steadily through the workday. Must be able to maintain an attendance record in compliance with the company policies and procedures.
